It seems a miracle, but I actually feel rested. We slept in this morning well past breakfast. In fact, when we decided to finally, rouse, it was about noon Limbe time. It felt good to sleep after being awake and travelling for so long, but now I am ready to move forward with our schedule. [...]

I have no idea what itme it is; it may be afternoon, but I have no way of knowing. I could ask I suppose.
Anyway, flying over mainland Africa is very, well, BEIGE. Every so often I’ll look out the window and there looks to be nothing but sand. I take it we are directly over [...]

Okay. Wonderful. Time does seem to be passing!
Just looked up…the nose of the little CG airplane on the screen is sooo close to the little dot with Brussels next to it! Yay! My waterbottle is slowly compressing as we descend.
Distance travelled so far: 6, 154 miles Temperature in Brussels at landing: 55 degrees F/ clear [...]

It’s interesting the things you discover on a trip like this. So far I have discovered…
1. that not all airports are the size of Indy International
2. that luggage gets heavier, much heavier, the longer you carry it
3.that there are 101 ways to repack your bags after going through security checkpoints
4. that my lips get very, [...]

I’m back briefly. Sandra is sitting next to me listening to Vivaldi as well and reading a Little Golden book about a courty mouse and a city mouse. right about this moment, I am feeling more like the country mouse. I still feel so awed just by the sheer size of this plane, not to [...]

I just turned on the on-flight television and on channel 3, which is the ‘map’ channel, I discovered that we are, right this moment, flying over Bangor, Maine. Scratch that. We just flew over Halifa. Wherever that is. I would be hopeless at a geography bee.
Oh, wait. Nevermind. I’m a goober. The little computer image [...]

What a day! It began smoothly and with no complication. It was confirmed two days ago that an Embassy official would meet us at Dulles in Washington D.C. with our passports and visas. We went on faith knowing God would provide. Check-in and security in Indy and D.C. was easy and lacked any surprises or [...]

I have returned! Actually, I have been home for a week now, but it has taken my body a little while to catch up to my heart and mind. This past week has been a great vacation and I thoroughly enjoyed just spending time with my kiddos and handsome husband. I find myself wishing all five of [...]

Ah, the blessed sight of a loved one whom you haven’t seen for 18 days coming thru the security gate at the airport! It is enough to make one swoon.
Heather made it safely home, on time, and in one piece, and is safely (almost) in bed. The kids have loved every minute of it – [...]
